The Finnish Ski Orienteering Championships in Sprint, Pursuit and Vantaan hiihtorastit event on 22-23 February 2025 are canceled

The organizing clubs Rasti-Jyry, Pihkaniskat, and OK 77 assessed the situation in Hakunila, Vantaa on 9 February 2025 at 13:00 and decided to cancel the ski orienteering Finnish Championships sprint, pursuit, and Vantaa ski orienteering event due to poor snow conditions, making it impossible to hold the competitions as scheduled on 22-23 February 2025.

The Finnish Orienteering Federation will provide separate information regarding possible replacement competitions for the Finnish Championships in 2025.

Organizational status

Preparations for the competition continue despite the current snow conditions being very poor for organizing the event, and the weather forecast for the coming days not promising any improvement. A decision on whether to hold or cancel the competition will be made by Sunday, February 9th at 18:00 at the latest.

Opening of entry

Snow situation in Vantaa is for the moment quite demanding. We are following up the situation and open up for entry in Irma as soon as possible.
